Gifts For Canton

Our friend Deacon Don Richie retired on December 27th from the Church by the Pond. He'll be missed in Hartford and will soon start a new ministry (Mass on the Grass) in New Britain.

Christmas at Trinity

The Altar Guild and parish volunteers began the greening of the church on December 23rd and had it all ready for Christmas Eve services. Here are shots of the prep process and the final result. What a beautiful job!

Gifts For Canton

The Parish Hall was turned into a toy store just in time for Christmas. Volunteers collected toys from all over town and brought them to Trinity so the needy families in Canton woud have some toys for their kids this Christmas. Thanks to everyone that helped and donated.

 

This Year's Confirmation

An important event for all of our teens is confirmation. On November 9th, two of Trinity's own were confirmed by Bishop Laura, surrounded by their teachers & family

Quality Street Fair Is Big Success

Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the entire parish comes together to put on the Quality Street Fair. All the proceeds from the fair are divided equally between the Canton Food Bank and the Canton Fuel Bank. This year we made over $8,000 in total!

Church By The Pond

On Halloween Day, volunteers met in the parish hall and made lunch for the homeless in Hartford. Rev. Linda and Marc Regis brought all of the goodies to them and celebrated Holy Eucharist by the pond.

On Sunday, October 4th, in the afternoon, parishioners gathered to get their pets blessed by our rector. A fun and blessed time was had by everyone.

On Sunday, September 13th, after the 10 a.m. Service, we hadan Ice Cream Social for our children and for those who still hold onto the “spark of the child” that glows within. 

The Consecration of Audrey Scanlan as Bishop

On September 12, 2015 Connecticut's own was made a bishop in central Pennsylvania.

Travis Robinson Open Mic Event on the Lawn

On Saturday, August 8th the parish turned out for an open microphone event on the front lawn. Many parishioners and friends performed both music and poetry. A good time was had by all.

Travis Robinson Concert on the Lawn

On Saturday, July 11th the parish was treated to a wonderful concert on the lawn by Travis Robinson and his band. Travis was joined by parisioner Dawn Lowell who sang with the band during the second set.

 

Parish Picnic

On Sunday, June 14th we all met at Stephen, Rebecca and Tanner Gorman's home for a wonderful afternoon of sun, food, fun and conversation. Thank you to the Gormans for their hospitality.

Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Party

On Saturday, May 2nd trinity family and friends gathered at The Local Grill, Riverdale Farms for a gala Derby Party.

Everyone wore their swankiest hat or silliest bow tie and joined in the horse racing fun.

Hats Off Interfaith Event

All were invited on Saturday, May 2nd to knit, crochet, or sew hats for premature babies and/or children and adults living with cancer. Hats were donated to St. Francis Hospital NICU, St. Francis and Mt. Sinai Regional Cancer Center, and CCMC Cancer Center.

Kara Sundlun
Book Signing

Kara Sundlun spoke on Friday, May 1st about her book Finding Dad: From Love Child to Daughter. The night included a reception, book discussion, followed by book signing and dessert. A fun time was had by all meeting the author and Hartford broadcast TV journalist.

Church In The Park

On Saturday, April 18th parishioners gathered at church at 11 AM and made lunch for 75 homeless people in Hartford. The boxes were taken to Bushnell Park and after a wonderful eucharist service celebrated by Rev. Linda, all had a wonderful lunch in beautiful weather!

60's 70's Dance Party

On Saturday, March 7th, Travis Robinson and Dawn Lowell hosted a fund-raising dinner for the parish at Camp Happy Hill in Unionville.

Everyone cut a rug during the evening, even Ann McAdoo on her crutches!

Drum Circle

On Friday, March 6th, Deacon Doug hosted our first Lenten Soup Supper featuring an authentic Drum Circle.

Everyone got a chance to express their musical talents.

Canton Connections Fund Raiser

On Tuesday, March 3rd, Flat Bread Restaurant hosted a fund raiser for Canton Connections featuring the KC Girl Singers

Shrove Tuesday Celebration

On Tuesday, February 17th, the parish hall was packed with the faithful enjoying a wonderful Mardi Gras dinner before the beginning of Lent.

End Hunger
New England

On Saturday, January 17th, the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center sponsored “End Hunger New England” – an initiative to provide meals to those in our local community in need. Volunteers from Trinity and other area churches, mosques and synagogues worked package meals for Foodshare to pick up. Trinity volunteers included Laurie Barnhart, Judy Hinman, Carol Corry, Heather Garvin, Dawn Lowell and her granddaughter Layla and  Maryellen Prudhomme. When it was all over, the effort provided 32,000 packaged meals to those in need.

Young and old turned out for our annual pagaent to celebrate the Christmas season and Epiphany.

Christ Statue
On Loan

Trinity was lucky to have a beautiful sculpture of Jesus as a homeless person on loan for two weeks. The statue goes from church to church and we had it for two weeks this winter.
