Welcoming & Pastoral Care

2017 Annual Report

The Pastoral Care/Welcoming Committee helps to keep parishioners connected who are unable to be with us on Sundays and helps to take church to them. From this group meals for recently hospitalized persons or for families mourning the loss of loved ones are coordinated. A card ministry actively continues for events of life. This group offers a friendly visit and on occasion brings Holy Communion to someone who is homebound. A number of our members have moved away and we are in need of new members.

We continue to welcome all people into our doors and help others know that all are welcomed at our table. This group’s ministry includes inviting newcomers to coffee hour and introducing them to parish members. This group also hosts newcomer ministry Sundays when they happen. Our Sunday ushers have been wonderful greeters, and we are always looking for new ways to welcome the stranger into our midst. Vestry members during the year have taken responsibility for standing at the bottom of our stairs and welcoming people as they enter the building, hopefully making them feel at ease and know where to go for worship. We recognize that by welcoming the stranger we may be entertaining angels as Paul proclaims.

Please consider joining in this ministry, we would love to have you serve with us.  Please contact Roseann Kitching (860-507-6497) or Linda+ (860-693-8172).

Respectfully submitted,
