The Altar Guild adds light and color to our worship by setting the scene; they ensure the physical elements of our space are beautiful, reverent, and inspiring.
Members rotate responsibilities each month to care for the fabrics that drape the altar and other areas, bake bread and prepare sacred vessels for Communion, light and extinguish candles, arrange flowers, and return everything to its place after each service.
The Altar Guild also takes care of these special occasions:
- a booth at the annual (pre-COVID) Quality Street Fair, where their floral artistry is on full display
- Extra adornments for the sanctuary for special liturgical events, such as Easter and Christmas
- Help as needed for baptisms, weddings, and funerals
