Church Street Eats and Lunch in the Park
Church Street Eats is a cooperative Episcopal ministry centered at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford. Volunteers serve meals at Cathedral House every Sunday at noon, as well as 2-3 additional times each month. They also offer clothing and personal care items to those who come to eat. Prior to COVID, Trinity’s youth ministry helped here on occasion. We look forward to the day we can contribute again to this ministry.
Lunch in the Park distributes a bagged lunch every Saturday in Bushnell Park to anyone needing a meal on this day when other free food sources in the city are scant. Distributed to 20 – 100 individuals, these meals are prepared and provided on a rotating basis by a group of 30 to 40 Connecticut churches (of multiple denominations) and organizations.
Trinity Collinsville participates quarterly, with volunteers donating food and gathering to pack lunches at the church, then delivering and attending the Lunch in the Park event in Hartford.
